Sarooj is deeply committed to Oman’s sustainable development. We actively nurture local talent and businesses while making impactful contributions to society. As an Omani company, giving back is ingrained in our values. We dedicate a significant portion of our annual budget to scholarships and partner strategically with Dar Al Atta, a prominent local charity. Wherever we build roads, we extend them to reach schools and hospitals, improving access for all. Through sponsorships, contracts, rentals, training, and various other initiatives, Sarooj’s contributions to Omani communities have reached US$9 million.

Hydrogen Trucks
Sarooj is dedicated to minimizing its environmental footprint by embracing innovative solutions like hydrogen fuel cell trucks. These zero-emission vehicles significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, emitting only water vapor and contributing to cleaner air quality at construction sites. With their high efficiency and extended range, hydrogen trucks represent a promising leap toward sustainable transportation. As we monitor advancements in this cutting-edge technology, Sarooj is actively exploring pilot programs to integrate hydrogen-powered vehicles into our fleet, reaffirming our commitment to a greener future.

In-country Value (ICV)
Sarooj is a strong advocate for Oman’s economic prosperity by actively boosting In-Country Value (ICV). We’ve invested over $325 million, bringing industries, technologies, and factories to Oman. This dedication to local development extends across the country, from Musandam to Salalah. Nurturing new entrepreneurs is a core value for Sarooj. We’ve successfully mentored and supported three SMEs, fostering local business growth. Additionally, we provided financial and technical support to a local aggregate producer, empowering their expansion. This unwavering commitment to ICV was recently recognized by PDO with the Raoul Restucci In-Country Value Award for Best Contractor in ICV Delivery in 2021.
